Have you ever watched a wound heal?
At first, it’s open and painful. Tender to the touch. You guard it, protect it, and sometimes it even reopens before it gets better. But slowly, God’s design begins to work. Skin knits back together. Pain fades. And what’s left is a scar—not to shame, but to remember.
That’s how grief has worked in me.
I will always remember my firstborn son, Cameron.
Always.
Losing him changed me.
But over time, love has taught me how to let go, just enough to live again.
Not to forget—never that—but to allow joy to coexist with loss.
Healing doesn’t mean the absence of pain. It means there’s growth.
Growth in learning how to smile again.
Growth in dancing through the tears.
Growth in trusting that Cameron’s life mattered—and still does.
To every mother, father, sibling, or friend grieving someone they love:
You’re healing, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.
Let love lead you back to life.
Your heart has room to remember and to keep beating.
