We all have projects, ideas, and dreams that we have somehow placed on the back burner. If we are truthful, we have a long list of excuses for why they aren’t done. However, these things haven’t gone anywhere – it’s just you giving up. Why is that? Is it merely you not being faithful to complete it or it’s not working out the way you intended? Whatever your rationale is, pick it back up and get it done! It took me years to get past my own procrastination (which by the way, is still the leading cause of my back burner stuff) to realize that what I had to fulfill had an impact on others. I also had to deal with my internal rejection – you know the kind where you talk yourself out of doing something because you just know someone will tell you it’s a bad idea. That in itself is a dream killer.
You can’t be intimidated by the success of others that have the same ideas as you. Just because someone did it before, doesn’t mean they did it the way God intended for you to do it. Whatever your passion is, there are people who will support it and most of the time they aren’t within your circle. Imagine that! Imagine a connection outside your circle – one that could introduce you to resources that otherwise wouldn’t be shown had you not stepped out of your comfort zone. Stop worrying about the naysayers when it comes to your passion. Be FEARLESS!
You may never reach superstar status, or become the next Facebook sensational, but someone needs you. Yeah, giving up isn’t an option. If it doesn’t work today, then rethink the strategy and try tomorrow. It takes one “yes” to make it work. A conversation for someone to listen; 30 minutes of exercise to strengthen you for weight loss. The possibilities are endless! Why would you even consider walking away from the very thing that gives you life? Isn’t passion the fuel that drives you to believe in the impossible?
What would it take for you to get it done?
It takes you being committed.
Don’t self-sabotage.
Be as faithful to yourself as you are to everyone else.
